Floristry Essentials

Welcome to our popular Floristry Foundation Class.

Across two days of friendly, supportive tuition, you’ll discover a selection of stylish floral designs using a variety of mediums and techniques, designed specifically to give you a solid introduction to the working with flowers.

Over the course of the two days we have together, you’ll be introduced to the basics of floristry, discovering the names and properties of your flowers and learning how to condition and process them too. We’ll introduce you to the Principles and Elements of floral design, and then you’ll be led through a total of seven hands-on projects, all of which you’ll get to take home with you.

Throughout your time with us, we’ll be covering :

A simple, seasonal hand-tied bouquet

A centrepiece arrangement

A meadow-scape arrangement

A buttonhole

A classical bridal bouquet

A seasonal door wreath

As with all of our courses, we’ll be working with the season’s best materials, including British grown flowers and foliages, sourced directly from our local growing partners when the season allows.

This course is ideal for those who have an interest in floristry, those who are brand new to the world of flowers or those who have experienced our Floristry Taster Class and are now looking to take the next steps with their floristry skills.

If you’re looking for an exciting introduction to floristry, the Floristry Foundation Class is an excellent starting point.

Please note, no prior experience is required to join us on the Floristry Foundation Class.
Basic tools will be provided.

NEW FOR 2027: FLORISTRY ESSENTIALS

From 2027, our Floristry Foundation Class becomes Floristry Essentials.

The new two-day course takes the ideas behind our Foundation Class further, with a refreshed curriculum designed to help you move beyond simply following instructions and begin understanding why a floral design works.

Across two practical days, you’ll explore professional flower care and conditioning, bouquet work, naturalistic arrangement, sympathy floristry, kenzan mechanics, taped-grid design and contemporary wearable flowers, alongside the foundations of shape, movement, balance and proportion.
